JULY 2024 HOROSCOPES

June 29, 2024

A blurry start to the month as Neptune stations retrograde whilst trine Mercury. Mercury then enters Leo, so we get a major shift in tone right at the top of the month.

This year we’re starting to feel the effects of the upcoming conjunction between Saturn and Neptune. While the conjunction itself doesn’t perfect until early 2026, next year they get damn close. Saturn Neptune years bring with them a vague yet pervasive collective malaise. This is a heavy feeling and can come up as emotional despair and sorrow. We may feel like we have no fighting spirit left after all we’ve been through, or that we are powerless in the face of insurmountable collective challenges. This is the death of a dream and a whole new cycle in our conception of faith and reality as a society.

Saturn is reality, and Neptune is the illusion, a glittering image. Things are going to get extremely challenging to discern. The real inches closer to the fake and vice versa. It’s sobriety vs stupor. Will you view reality through rose-tinted glasses, or recognise that not all is as lustrous and glimmering as it appears on the surface? Will you dare to dream or let fear dictate your reality?

Think of perfume. Perfume is inherently Neptunian. It is chemicals, possibly toxic chemicals, in a beautiful bottle. We pay for what these chemicals evoke. A fleeting feeling, an intangible dream. In this way, perfume is deceptive. It’s potentially poisonous, yet it allows us to experience something magical, a luxury and a glimpse into a world that we otherwise would never normally have access to.

I mention this because when I talk about either planet over the coming years we can’t think of them as separate from one another. Saturn is Neptunian now, and Neptune is Saturnian now. The boundaries are blurry. Saturn stationed retrograde at the end of last month, and Neptune stations on the 2nd, so this energy intensifies now. Neptune is at the anaretic, or final degree of Pisces, so we have this interesting phenomenon of planets engaging with him right as they exit a sign and enter a new one.

The Sun passes through the bending of the nodes this month. This is the halfway point between eclipses, an internal shift toward a new beginning, or a developmental milestone. We might be feeling it in our souls that things are changing. Nothing happens by accident. Resistance is futile where the nodes are concerned. The north node, Rahu, is in charge of this aspect, pushing us not so gently to build towards the future that we desire.

Mercury, Venus and The Sun all oppose Pluto this month which suggests that we’re dealing with some existential fears or shame collectively. Mercury-Pluto interactions often bring with them disclosures of abuses of power. We may be obsessing, or dealing with the culmination of some previous terrors we thought we had moved past. Remember, Pluto is in Aquarius now. While these may feel like new frontiers, it’s important to remember that evil doesn’t die, it reinvents itself.

A sweet Cancer New Moon takes place on the 6th, after which The Moon forms harmonious aspects to both Malefics, which are currently connecting via sextile themselves. Aspects to the malefics aren’t necessarily pleasant, even if they are trines or sextiles. These aspects speak to the diligence, hard work, and fighting spirit required of the new beginning that this lunation represents.

Cancer is a nursery, a private space where we house our most precious and vulnerable parts. These developments may be deeply emotional, private and personal. We may be making decisions from instinct rather than conscious awareness at this time. What do you love so much that you are prepared to defend it to the death? This is likely something that is represented by the Cancer house in your chart.

The major piece of more concerning astrology this month is the conjunction between Mars and Uranus which will go exact on the 16th in Taurus. Sudden upsets, potentially violent, could arise. Something that we assume to be stable and steady may prove that it is not as robust as we thought. We may be feeling especially reckless and impulsive at this time, made even more visceral due to the Moon opposing this conjunction from her fall in Scorpio on the same day.

Mercury squares Uranus on the 22nd, so it’s likely that communication or intellectual calibration of events will take several days or longer to emerge. Mercury Uranus interactions are usually an anxious time, and The Sun trines Neptune concurrently, so you may not be able to put your finger on why you feel like this.

Mercury enters the degrees of his upcoming retrograde on the 17th. The issues that come up around this over the few weeks that follow will likely be revisited during August.

We have a second Capricorn Full Moon on the 21st. Straight after the lunation The Moon joins Pluto. We had our first Full Moon in Capricorn this time last month, so this is a second opportunity to cut ties or end a chapter that may extend as far back as 16 years. Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, and will retrograde back through the degrees of this Full Moon over September and October. There’s something very final about this Full Moon. It takes place at 29 degrees of Capricorn, in Mars’ term, connecting with Mars via trine. Mars is the exaltation lord of Capricorn. We’re very much on his turf.

Mars enters Gemini on the 21st, before the Full Moon. Mercury enters Virgo on the 26th. The end of the month kicks off the mutable chaos of August….more on that later.

Read from your rising sign or sect light.

All dates are in AEST, adjust accordingly.

Cancer

Last month brought the culmination of a major chapter in your life regarding your partnerships. This Cancer season we have two Full Moons in Capricorn, so you get another go at this. The first one was on June 21st, and the next one takes place on the 21st of this month. That means that you get a re-do of sorts. Maybe this pertains to a different partnership. The seventh house rules your long-term romantic partnerships, business partnerships, and open enemies.

Capricorn is the old guard, the sign of legacy and tradition. What parts of yourself have you lost to relationships that haven’t served you? It’s time to go back to the old ways. It’s time to get back to your true self and remember how you want to be remembered through these relationships. Mars is here to help you this Full Moon, meaning you should be able to sever any ties that you need to in a productive way. The New Moon in Cancer on the 6th is a nice time to center your intentions around this.

This Month not only is The Sun in your sign, but for the first half of the month, so is Venus. You get to look and feel especially magnetic and attractive through the first couple weeks of July.

Mars meets Uranus in your eleventh house on the 16th. Some unexpected, upsetting, or spicy drama in your friendship circle may be expected on this date. As Mars is the ruler of your tenth and fifth houses, topics around children or career might be involved too. This is a tense one, so try to ride it out in a productive way. Your ruler, The Moon, will be directly opposing this conjunction, so you may find this especially affecting.

Mars enters your twelfth house on the 21st and it’s time to check in on your sleep and mental health in preparation for next month.

Leo

Happy Leo Season! (Almost anyway). You’ve just got the rest of twelfth house season to get through first. You’ve got an opportunity for some solitary progress this month. You may spend a lot of it in your own head, revisiting secrets, traumas, or even ways in which you’ve sabotaged yourself. Venus is here until the 12th, so consider this a healing transit. Venus then enters Leo and you’re suddenly looking and feeling fabulous.

There’s some karmic and necessary change taking place early this month for you. The Sun, your ruler, passes through the halfway point between eclipses, known as the bending of the nodes. This is a developmental milestone for you that will come full circle come eclipse season in a few months. Don’t resist it, this is a necessary step and you’ll be better for it in the long run.

You may be able to make some considerable progress around some longer-term goals mid-month as The Sun trines Saturn. Saturn is in the overcoming position, and these two planets aren’t necessarily friends. Saturn wants you to work. Try to put some practical and manageable pieces into place now as you might spend the rest of Cancer season visualising and dreaming. Dreaming is a form of planning, so this isn’t an entire waste of your time. This progress may relate to your mental health as impacted by any shared assets, dealings with death, inheritance, or things shared with a partner.

A potential for some temporary chaos in your public or career life is possible around the 16th. It’ll be an acute shakeup, and you may not see it coming. Don’t take things that are usually stable or dependable in this part of your life for granted at this time or you may find yourself disappointed or shocked.

Virgo

The top of the month looks interesting. Mercury trines Neptune then opposes Pluto. You may encounter some deceptive dealings, or power struggles at this time. This could feel like a pleasant enough attempt at drunken escapism, followed by the shame and uncomfortable feelings that the hangover can bring.

Twelfth house season starts for you on the 22nd as The Sun enters Leo. You may feel especially introspective or drawn to solitary endeavours at this time, topics such as secrets, mental health, or self-sabotage may become more relevant.

Some unexpected disruption could occur around the 16th, when Mars joins Uranus in your ninth house. You may suddenly decide to engage in some long-distance travel, or move far away, though It would be advisable to avoid travel around the middle of the month if possible. You may instead feel impulsively drawn to a new study or writing project. This disruption may be related to communication, sexuality or even your partner’s assets as Mars rules your third and eighth house.

You’re possibly reviewing and evaluating your relationships this month, and making some decisions around what these mean for you long term. This may mean breakups, or deciding a business partnership isn’t quite what you thought it would be. Have you been delusional or idealistic about this part of your life, or even what you’re capable of giving to it?

Mercury squares Uranus on the 22nd. You may find that any events that take place around the 16th catch up with you around this time. You may encounter a thought-provoking or unsettling conversation or publication, or may just be anxiety-ridden. Mercury Uranus is good like that. Your ruling planet, Mercury enters the shadow of his upcoming retrograde on the 17th. These issues will likely be revisited in weeks to come.

Libra

Venus spends the first couple of weeks this month in your tenth house, lending a sweet helping hand to your career or public life. Your focus will likely shift to your social sphere, and your hopes and dreams for the future in the second half of the month after Venus enters Leo on the 12th.

There may be some issues that come up this month at work due to Saturn and Neptune stationing in your sixth house. Are you getting what you want out of this part of your life? The phrase ‘working hard or hardly working’ comes to mind.

The 12th and 13th may be some strange days for you. Venus trines Neptune on the 12th, which is a dreamy, escapist kind of vibe, but then she enters Leo and immediately opposes Pluto. Venus opposite Pluto is much ickier. It’s obsessive, stalkerish and sometimes pretty downright terrifying. Pluto can remind us of deep shame, or things we’d rather leave in the deep dark. Don’t let Neptune’s rose-tinted glasses allow you to put yourself into a sticky situation, particularly in your romantic or dating life. Someone or something may not be as they initially appear.

Venus shares a nice little sextile with Jupiter in Gemini on the 22nd, providing a nice little boost and maybe restoring a little faith in humanity. This happens right after our second Capricorn Full Moon. This lunation takes place in your fourth house. You may be experiencing a closure of sorts regarding your family lineage or home situation at this time, you might even be seeing the value in old ways of doing things. This is also a productive time to put to bed, or come to grips with any private emotional issues. What can you do to make yourself more resilient in the future? What has worked for you in the past?

There’s the potential for some unexpected issue to come up this month around your shared assets, death, or inheritance. Mars perfects his conjunction with Uranus in your eighth house on the 16th, and something previously stable may prove that it is the opposite.

Scorpio

A spicy month for Mars-ruled individuals as the warrior planet creeps closer to Uranus. The conjunction perfects on the 16th, but will be in effect all month. Uranus rules sudden events that seemingly come out of nowhere, he is an eccentric genius with an electric energy. Prepare (as much as you can) for some strange developments in your partnerships, or a bizarre or unsettling situation around the middle of the month. You have been feeling restless in your relationships for some time, and this month this energy culminates. Will you break free or can you find the liberation you are looking for through significant others?

The days that follow this may feel surreal or unclear. You may feel like you’re looking at things through a foggy lens. Mars sextiles Neptune on the 21st. This occurs on the day of a Full Moon in your third house. This is the second Full Moon in this part of your chart in the past month. You are closing a chapter, this chapter might have to do with your siblings or relatives, living abroad, or some communication project. There may be some existential fear around this as The Moon makes a conjunction with Pluto shortly after the lunation perfects, though on the whole this should be a productive experience for you.

Mars enters Gemini, your eighth house, on the 21st, where he will be hanging out with Jupiter for the next several weeks. He forms a trine with Pluto on the 22nd. There could be some transformational emotions at this time, and a general feeling of scatteredness and being all over the place. Mutable Mars will do that. Mars in the eighth house can put your libido into overdrive, but the issues that arise could also have to do with death or inheritance. Anything that comes up can lead to a much deeper connection with significant others.

Sagittarius

How is Jupiter in your seventh house treating you so far?

This month your ruling planet is taking it pretty easy. The only exact aspects Jupiter receives this month are a sextile with Mercury on the 9th and a sextile with Venus on the 22nd. You can expect both dates to bring some good news or pleasant interactions. These planets rule the houses in your chart that relate to your career and work, and relationships – both social and romantic. Both Mercury and Venus oppose Pluto this month, so you may find yourself occupied with some deep fears, dread or shame in these areas. This is likely mostly in your own head.

There’s the potential for some sudden disruption in your health or work life mid-month when Mars joins Uranus in your sixth house. If you’ve assumed something in these areas was stable and steady, these events might prove otherwise.

Mars enters Gemini on the 21st, and starts building towards a conjunction with Jupiter that will go exact next month. You may find that this transit adds some tension, anger or spice to your one on one relationships for a few weeks.

The Full Moon on the 21st  in Capricorn should allow you to realise some longer-term financial goals and allow you to be pragmatic about your financial future by looking at what’s worked for you in the past. What do you need to cut off so you can progress toward the financial future you want?

Capricorn

A strange time for you, isn’t it? Two Full Moons in your sign back to back.

We’re at the midpoint between eclipse seasons. The nodes are currently sitting across your fourth house and tenth house axis. You may have found that a lot of career baggage has been stripped away over the past few months, you may have been more focused on your home, family, or even some private emotional situation. This is a pivotal time for you, you’re closing out a chapter that has lasted 16 years. Pluto has not quite finished with you, but the Full Moon on the 21st should enable you to put some of the trauma and terror you encountered during that period to rest or at least into perspective.

There’s a new Moon in your seventh house, signalling the start of a new chapter in your relationships on the 6th. This is a nice time to set down some plans here that will see you through the long haul.

Around the 11th and 12th some productive developments around siblings or relatives may occur. It’s a nice time to deepen connections through challenging conversations or messages.

The middle of the month may bring some sudden upsets or unexpected events involving children or your romantic life. Emotions, and hopes and wishes for the future may be impacted by this. Mars joins Uranus, but will be out of this part of your chart by the 21st.

As your ruling planet, Saturn, is now retrograde, and so is Neptune you may not feel like your usual rigorous self. Especially with regard to your communication or thought patterns. Are you getting lost in dreams or illusions? For Saturnian types this influence can be uplifting. You may be recognising the value of faith and hope in a way you don’t usually. The next couple of years will bring a distinct change to your sense of self. A new perspective, a new self-image. You can’t prepare for the magic of what’s to come, but you can dare to dream once in a while.

Aquarius

There’s the potential for some unexpected disruption in your home, family or living situation, or family mid-month. Mars has been adding some heat and tension here for a while, but he meets Uranus on the 16th. This, usually stable, area of your life may encounter some temporary disruption.

Your ruler, Saturn, is now retrograde as of the end of last month. You may find that you hit a wall around the start of the month and need to go back to go forward. Neptune also stations retrograde on the 2nd of the month, and you may be coming to terms with unrealistic ideals around your financial situation. Saturn is a reality pill and unfortunately for now, you must take it. That doesn’t mean you can’t dream, but be pragmatic and keep your feet on the ground.

Venus trines Saturn on the 3rd from your sixth house. There’s some productive development in your work, health or financial situation at this time. The Sun reinforces this on the 11th. Are you getting what you want out of your work life? Or would a creative project be more fulfilling for you?

There’s a second Full Moon in your twelfth house on the 21st. There’s a push now to stop living in denial about your self-sabotaging habits or fears that have led to escapism rather than productive steps forward.

The nicest transit this month for you will be Venus entering Leo, your seventh house, on July 12th where she will stay for almost a month. Mars will be in your fifth house by the 21st. You can expect to enjoy some sweetness and some fresh energy in your romantic life, and in your closest relationships during this time. Cute.

Pisces

Saturn is now retrograde in your first house. On the 2nd, Neptune will join him. There is a malaise and intensity that will likely increase for you around this time, you may find yourself dreaming of an escape or struggling with sorrow around past loss. As much as I hate the cliche, the only way out is through.

Jupiter, your ruling planet is settling into your fourth house, bringing up themes around home, family, and private, emotional matters. Jupiter here can thankfully provide some joy or luck from these parts of life to see you through.

There’s a nice new Moon on the 6th in your fifth house, a new chapter in your romantic or recreational life is starting around this time. Don’t forget to make a wish.

A possible disruption relating to your siblings, transit or living abroad may occur mid-month as Mars meets Uranus in your third house. You may be making impulsive decisions regarding these areas of life at this time. The third house rules communication, so it may be that this comes in the form of unsettling words. Maybe don’t say the thing, unless you’re willing to deal with the consequences, and those consequences might look a lot different than you anticipate.

Jupiter is in a part of Gemini where he enjoys good planetary dignity, so you should feel empowered to function in an autonomous and productive way, and do things on your own terms. Mars joins Jupiter in your fourth house on the 21st, which may start some spicy turbulence relating to home and family that will culminate next month when this conjunction perfects.

The only two exact aspects Jupiter forms this month are a sextile to Mercury on the 9th, and a sextile to Venus on the 22nd. Both of these should bring pleasantries as sextiles are generally mild and harmonious. Jupiter is in the position of power during these aspects, so that’s nice for you too. These pleasant interactions may be to do with your work or health, as these planets are in Leo, your sixth house.

Aries

Mars spends the first two-thirds of the month in your second house, bringing the heat to the part of your chart that rules your financial situation, livelihood and belongings.

Mars and Saturn share a productive sextile on the 6th. Saturn is in your twelfth house at the moment, so this exchange could have to do with progress around self sabotage or some solitary endeavour. Consider how poor spending habits might be sabotaging your long-term financial progress. This push from the malefics could help you get this in order.

Both Saturn and Neptune will be retrograde in this part of your chart this month, doubling down on themes that have come up recently about some less-than-productive ways you have created your own suffering. Be realistic about what you are capable of doing right now, this transit will help you be so much more mentally resilient in the long term, even though it can feel morose and even sad at times.

There’s the potential for some unexpected drama around the 16th when Mars meets Uranus in your second house. Try to be stable and calm around these days as much as you can. I encountered a good metaphor once about Mars in Taurus being a bull trapped in a corral who ends up maiming the matador. Be aware that your actions mid-month can have unexpected consequences. As Mars shares a sextile with Neptune in the days that follow this, there’s the potential to not quite recognise what has occurred, or for there to be some self-deception at this time.

Mars enters Gemini, your third house on the 21st. You may spend more time over the coming several weeks focused on transit, communication, siblings or even living abroad. Next month these themes will ramp up for you as Mars applies to a conjunction with Jupiter.

Taurus

Mars is still in your sign. He will be here until the 21st, and unfortunately has more chaos to unleash during this time here. Have you been feeling restless, easily annoyed, or impulsive? Well, this is the final month of that theme for you.

The first couple of weeks of the month are nice enough. Venus is in Cancer, enjoying some sweet conversations, and some productive aspects from Saturn and Uranus.

The closer she gets to her ingress into Leo, your fourth house, the messier things get. The upcoming disruptions all occur as Venus is in the most private part of your chart which rules your emotions, home and living situation. Venus enters Leo on the 12th, and the issues or events that take place over the coming week may feel deeply personal and affecting.

Your usual slow and steady, stable and reliable vibe is possibly quite disrupted at this time, and will likely be even more disrupted during the middle of the month when Mars joins Uranus on the 16th. Mars rules your seventh and twelfth houses, so this may have to do with a partner, secrets or self-sabotage.

Your ruler, Venus, also makes some aspects to the outer planets that may add to this challenge on the 12th and 13th. First, she trines Neptune, and then she opposes Pluto. These influences are potentially deceptive and may even bring up some shame or deep fears. Normally Venus trine Neptune is a lovely vibe where we can get lost in the sauce and enjoy some good old-fashioned escapism. This stuff may feel nice initially, but it’s unlikely to stay that way given what’s to come.

The good news is, that most of the drama is over by the 22nd, when Venus shares a lovely sextile with Jupiter. This aspect says “Have faith, and it’ll all be okay”, you may even receive some financial wins at this time.

Gemini

Pressure is ramping up in your career. Saturn is now retrograde in your tenth house, and Neptune joins him on the 2nd. This may feel like any progress you’ve made towards your ideal public image is regressing. Reality is sometimes a hard pill to swallow, and Neptune works in deceptive and illusory ways. Are you being realistic about your public image? Or are you projecting an unrealistic or curated image of yourself to the world? In time, Saturn will help you achieve these dreams, but the hard work isn’t over.

Mercury starts gearing up for yet another retrograde this month and will start slowing his pace around the 17th. Anything that comes up for you before the retrograde, which starts on the 5th of August, may require a redo over the coming weeks.

There’s some challenging and possibly upsetting astrology happening in your twelfth house this month. This is the part of your chart that represents hidden enemies, self sabotage, and solitary endeavours. Mid-month Mars, who has been inflaming this part of your life for the past month or so, meets Uranus on the 16th. Sudden disruptions, or upsets around friends, health – mental or physical, or work are possible at this time. Watch your sleep quality during this transit, and try to go easy on yourself.

Mercury squares Uranus on the 22nd, so this disruptive tension will likely carry through this entire part of the month. This aspect is an anxious one, so try to have some self soothing measures in place.

Mercury enters Virgo on the 26th, which is a much more pleasant place for him to be, though his pace is slow at this point, and he’s aware he’ll likely be reliving the experiences of the past couple of weeks on repeat over his upcoming retrograde. The good news is, if you mess up, as we all do, you get a do-over.
